Train Hard

I'm about 10 weeks out from race day. I have been training consistently for the past few weeks. I feel pretty strong. Ok correction I was feeling pretty strong until I went to the gym Monday and now my legs are thrashed and Im sore as hell! I have not been going to the gym much and that showed big time after my workout. Monday at 8am I went to Thomas DeVietro Strength & Condition  Monday is squat day. I felt great during the workout but two hours later when I was due to run my scheduled 8 miles for that day my legs were feeling it. Needles to say my 4 mile yesterday was pretty darn tough as well. Im glad I went to the gym. Im plan to go again next Monday. I am participating in the Run Ranger Run event this month with Tom and a few other members of the gym. Our goal is to run 565 miles for the month. My personal run goal for the month is 160 miles. Id also like to raise atleast $250 dollars for GallantFew ? Im excited to a part of Run Ranger Run I know it will help keep...

10k with my Jimmy

So today was the First Run of the Coventry Woods Trail Run Series in Pottstown, PA. My husband and I signed up for this series a month or so back and immediately I was very excited that Jimmy decided to run a few races with me. Last year a few of us did the Color Run at night and we were the only 3 people really running and my husband was pretty bummed that it wasn't a timed event. I knew at that point I could get him to sign up for another race but I was thinking it too would have to be a 5k. Many people who do not run often will willingly sign up for a 5k with you but I'm pertain certain it's a rare bread of people that will sign up for a 3 race 10k series with you!! Thanks my Love. Coventry Woods is about an hour from our home which is one reason I did not want to run it alone. I have no problem running races by myself but I'd much prefer them to be a on a course I'm familiar with or know atleast one other person running in the event. Since a very early age I fel...

First long run in months!

This week starts the week of Ragnar training so I need to start doing longer run on Saturdays. The goal for today's run was 9 miles. My destination was John Heinze wildlife refuge. From my front door it's about 1 mile to entrance, the loop is about 8 so that would get me my nine plus a cool down walk. I obviously wasn't in the right frame of mind when I made this decision because the entrie trail was covered in snow and ice. A person with a sound mind would have probably turned back and ran home and then ran the streets near their house. I am certainly not that person instead I kept on running on snow and ice covered trails and actually didn't fall or twist an ankle! I was however sane enough to run out of the park when I got to the other side rather than heading around the loop back towards home. I just didn't have it in me to keep at it on the snow and ice. I'm happy I stuck it out and completed the run.                 I'm grateful that th...
